IMPROVEMENT:
  • New Net Code is active. Dramatically reduces CPU time on the Server.
  • New Save Code is active. Dramatically reduces CPU time on the Server.
  • New Nav Mesh Obstacle Creation Optimizations. Dramatically reduces CPU time on the Server.
  • Dramatically Reduced Hitch on Join. Now remember kids, O(N^3) is ALWAYS A BAD IDEA.
  • More CPU savings on servers. We will find every Cycle wasted and TAKE IT BACK FROM THE GREEDY SERVER.
  • Unified all Base Items to have their Upgrade/Privacy Settings/Self Destruct on the right side window.

Hey everyone, we've building a really great server listing interface for people to advertise their servers. The first component is a public list to help you find servers based on a ranking algorithm we made. It is still a work in progress and I will be adding more features over the next few days, including sorting, filtering, etc.

The server ranking list takes into account the following:
1) Server uptime
2) Average number of players online in the past hour.

From this information an algorithm then gives the server a score. Percentage of uptime + more average people online = better score. If a server is down for more than 5 polls in a row (servers are polled every 5 minutes) then it will no longer be polled for 24 hours and this will have negative impact on server scores. I will be tweaking the scoring algorithm and if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!

So today we are going to show a lot of sneak peaks of what is coming soon to GRAV. If you don't know GRAV has Trello Setup to organize priority of features of things they like to add to the game. Now please note that they will most likely add smaller things here and there before these features come to light but these are their higher propriety of features to get out of the door.

We are listing at this time the features that are marked for Near Future Early Access. This could still be months away or only weeks or days.

Stargate:

The Stargate will allow you to travel planet to planet and the devs have hinted the planets you see rotating around your planet now is the planets it will travel to. We have no Clue how it connects to a planet if it has some sort of selector or dial up but will post more info when we get...

Looks like the Developers are working hard on Patch 7. We went through 2 Major Changes Patch 7 PRE1 and Patch 7 PRE2. Just an hour ago Patch 7 and Shown up on Experiment. All the Patch notes from Pre1 and Pre2 have now be condensed. Looks like will be seeing Patch 7.0 Released very soon!
